The slave girls picked Vanessa up and led her down a back passage way and up several flights of stairs hewn out of solid rock and finally too a secluded room. There she was chained to the wall and left in the dark for what seemed like hours.
Vanessa sat in the dark and wept. All of this was her fault. She had insisted in coming on the expedition for her own selfish reasons. If she had stayed at the mission station the soldiers would have never gone down into the Necropolis to rescue her and eventually went down into the tomb that led them all too this fate.
After a while the door opened and in stepped one of the slave gi

The sun finally began to rise over the jungle once more. The rest of the night had been uneventful. Everyone was made to sleep next to the fire in the middle of the ruins so they could all keep an eye on each other.
Everybody up! Rise and shine men of Her Majesties Quazistani Rifles! Time to earn your pay my good gentlemen. The Sergeant bellowed. He walked past the sleeping soldiers kicking the bottom of the slower to awakens feet.
Right! I want all the men assembled and ready to go in five minutes. Were going to go back down into the Necropolis and find those bodies. Mr. Cooper claims to have shot two last

The column made its way through the jungle along one of the well-worn trails that lead to the first village. It was getting hotter as the sun rose during the morning but the trail was well shaded by the large palm trees that covered the path.
Tera had gone ahead taking a short path through the jungle that she knew about to scout ahead. Jack smiled and watched as she moved through the underbrush with ease. She was in her element now and even the Captain had a good word for her.
She is quite adept at reconnaissance isnt she. He said to Lieutenant Bisby.
Yes quite. He repli

The Eastern Princess chugged steadily towards the Mission Station. Jack had a load of supplies for the station as usual as well as several passengers.
The first was Captain Reginald Harris a cavalry officer of Her Majestys Quazistan Light horse. He was in his early thirties and quiet handsome. He was tall with jet-black hair and piercing blue eyes. Jack had heard the women whisper about him to each other on his stays in Port Victoria.
He was a charmer and good at it Jack had to admit. He was always welcome in the best homes of the best families in the colony.
He also had the infuriating talent of undeniable sno

How much longer Sergeant? Lieutenant Steiner asked the man working on the steam engine.
The half-tracked vehicle was a new vehicle being tested by the German Army here on Quazistan. So far it had shown a tendency to over heat forcing the operator and driver to make constant repairs to the infernal contraption.
Its just about ready sir. It seems the pipe wasnt secured properly last time. The vehicle operator said nervously.
Good job Gunter. Finish it up and lets get moving. Steiner replied.
The Lieutenant sat back down on the rear bench and removed his pith helmet. He carefully wiped the inside of the band to remove the sweat that had accumulated. He was finally getting used to the heat in Quazistan after b

Women and children were crying in the center of the village. Armed men had dragged them out of their homes in the middle of the night. Their husbands had all been taken down to the river by more armed raiders. They had come for slaves. Every one knew of the slave raiders that attacked by night. Some thought they didnt exist but on this fateful night there were no disbelievers.
Some in the village tried to fight back or escape only to be cut down by the raiders. The village never stood a chance against the military precision demonstrated by these savage men. They were not from Quazistan. They had traveled half way around the world after they lost their war. They could no longer own slaves in their homeland so they

The H.M.S. Devonshire was finally secured to the large wooden pier at the end of the docks. The Devonshire was a passenger steamer that had just finished its first trip to Quazistan and Port Victoria. Vanessa Downe had come home at last after sixteen years. Her father had taken her to his homeland to be raised and educated in England so she would have every advantage that type of upbringing would give her. She was after all half-cast and only partly English in the eyes of her full-blooded English compatriots.
The gangplank was secured and the first class passengers began to disembark. Venessa watched the people as they held onto the railing. After the long voyage they still needed to gain their land legs again.
She was ashamed to admit that she found humor in their dilemma because they had been so rude to her by ignori

Quazistan is a continent located in the Indian Ocean. It has a long and varied past, some of it good and some not so good.
At one time an ancient race of people lived here. They had been rumored to have had magnificent devices and a strange sort of technology that made them the rulers of the entire region. Not much is known about this race of people but legends say they became mad with power and corruption. They began to fight amongst themselves and soon everything was lost. A mass exodus ensued by the survivors too the many colonies they had built on the continents of Asia and Africa.
Centuries past and the Quazistani refugees melded into the local populace erasing all former ties to their homeland. As time past many kingdoms in the region began to colonize the
